Trenchless Technologies
Every project is unique. As such, Visser & Smit Hanab Drilling Technologies can offer a full range of drilling techniques and state-of-the-art equipment and materials for drilling paths for cables, pipes, casings and drains in-house. Factors that influence which drilling technique to go for include client requirements, the distance that needs to be covered, the environment, the diameter, soil conditions and permits required. Once these have been considered, the most suitable machine, method and type of materials are selected.
Horizontal Directional Drilling
Trenchless techniques are often used to minimise disruptions when cables and pipelines are being laid, so that operations can continue as normal. Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) reduces this problem significantly and Visser & Smit Hanab is an expert in this field. HDD techniques provide the answer when rivers, canals, dikes, nature reserves, roads, railways and existing cable and pipeline networks have to be crossed, and in densely populated areas, this is often the case.
Engineering
Our philosophy is that ‘there's no such thing as can't'. As such, our dedicated and experienced in-house engineering department is vital to us. Our engineers can design every possible solution for your trenchless project, in any circumstances. Our engineers are also capable of taking HDD to the next level as you can see at Pipe Pusher and BioGrout.
Microtunneling
Visser & Smit Hanab has been using classic drilling technologies such as rocket drilling and open front drilling since the late 1970s. Nowadays, we also have years of experience with shield drilling methods such as the earth pressure balance shield method, the mix shield method and the mechanical pressure balance shield method. Above all, we have all the necessary equipment in various diameters in-house.
